Hi, I'm Dr. Joann Swatek! I really look forward to meeting you and your pet and having you become a part of the Plymouth Veterinary Hospital family.
Could you tell us about your educational background and experience?
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2009 with my doctorate in veterinary medicine, and I've been in private practice ever since.
What types of animals do you enjoy seeing and treating?
I enjoy seeing dogs and cats, but I also like to see rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and lots of other types of animals.

Why did you choose veterinary medicine as a career?
I chose veterinary medicine as a career because animals have always played an important role in my life and I wanted the opportunity to help them live long, happy, healthy lives!
What do you enjoy about your work?
I enjoy meeting and getting to know new animal friends and the people that care for them.
What is your goal in working with pets and their owners?
It's my goal to be a partner with you in your pet's care so that together we can help them live their best life.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my husband, John, and my cats, Cedric, Susie, and Tordy. I also enjoy traveling, going to rock concerts, and spending time outside in nature!

Yes, I'm a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the Southeast Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.
